Video Summary
This study determined the clinical important difference (CID) and patient acceptable symptomatic state (PASS) for patient-reported outcome measures in knee cartilage restoration patients. Analyzing 113 patients undergoing various cartilage procedures, results showed CID values ranged widely, with pain and symptoms easier to improve than quality of life or sports function. About two-thirds of patients achieved meaningful improvement in pain, symptoms, or function. Younger patients and those with higher baseline scores were more likely to reach PASS. This is the first study to define these thresholds in this diverse population, suggesting future research should focus on procedure-specific CID and PASS values.
