The day concludes with a combined shoulder and elbow session focusing on the overhead throwing athlete.<br /><br />Day two emphasizes hands-on learning with early morning cadaver lab sessions allowing attendees to focus on selected procedures. The day includes two lab sessions separated by breaks, non-CME industry presentations by Stryker and DePuy Synthes, and concludes by 5 p.m.<br /><br />Pre-course lectures cover a comprehensive range of topics essential to shoulder surgery, including operating room setups, portals, treatment of SLAP lesions, various instability repairs, capsular shifts, knot techniques, management of complex rotator cuff tears, superior capsular reconstruction, tendon transfers, biceps procedures, capsular and nerve releases, acromioclavicular joint management, arthroscopic OA treatment, and biologic patch applications.<br /><br />Course co-chairs are Drs. Larry D. Field and Robert U. Hartzler. The program aims to deepen understanding of shoulder arthroscopy fundamentals, discuss current controversies such as grafting and bone block methods, and enhance surgical skills in complex cases including massive tears, bone loss, and revision surgeries. The course addresses identified professional practice gaps to improve patient outcomes in shoulder surgery.
