Video Summary
Dr. Dan Haber presented long-term outcomes of the comprehensive arthroscopic management (CAM) procedure for young patients with glenohumeral osteoarthritis. In a single-surgeon retrospective study of 38 shoulders with 10-year follow-up, CAM showed 63% survivorship without progression to total shoulder arthroplasty (TSA), outperforming traditional arthroscopic debridement. Positive patient-reported outcomes and satisfaction were sustained over 10 years. Predictors of CAM failure included preoperative humeral head flattening and severe joint incongruity. Though technically challenging, CAM offers an effective joint-preserving alternative or bridging option to TSA in selected patients, warranting further comparative studies.
